Un finde en Sevilla
Hola!
El fin de semana pasado Michala y yo nos quedamos en Sevilla y fue una buena oportunidad para relajarnos y disfrutar de esta preciosa ciudad. La noche del viernes fuimos a una discoteca para divertirnos la última vez con algunos amigos que salieron el siguiente día. El sábado dormimos poco tarde y salimos al centro. Comimos churros con chocolate - aquí no tienen azúcar y canela, sino masa frita y un chocolate como chocolate caliente. Fueron buenísimos. Caminamos por el barrio Santa Cruz (el de los antiguos judíos) y encontramos el Callejón del Beso, una calle muy conocida por ser muy estrecha. Se llama así porque hay una leyenda que dos amantes besaban desde terrazas a los dos diferentes lados de esta calle. También visitamos a la Plaza de España otra vez. El domingo asistimos a una iglesia evangélica y nos gustó mucho. Fue un poco diferente a las iglesias americanas pero no mucho. La gente era muy simpática y la adoración buenísima. Esa noche subimos en Las Setas, una estructura muy grande cerca de la escuela, para ver la puesta del sol. Fue muy bonito - la mejor vista de Sevilla.
Esta semana (que ya ha terminado) conocimos a nuevos compañeros y empezamos nuevas clases. Me gustan los nuevos estudiantes y tengo ganas de aprender más sobre la historia y el arte de España.

This past weekend Michala and I stayed in Sevilla, and it was a great opportunity to relax and enjoy this wonderful city. Friday night we went out to a discoteca with some friends to hang out one last time before they left the next day. Saturday we slept in and then went to the center of Sevilla. We ate churros con chocolate - here they aren't rolled in cinnamon sugar, they're only fried dough and chocolate. They were super good. We walked through the Santa Cruz neighborhood (the Jewish quarter in Sevilla) and we found the Callejón del Beso (kissing street?). It's well known for being really narrow. It got its name because there's a legend that two lovers kissed from different terraces on either side of the street. It's that narrow. We also visited the Plaza de España again. Sunday we went to an evangelical church which we really liked. It was a little different than the churches at home but not by much. The people were really nice, and the worship was fantastic and so fun. That night we went to the Setas, a really big structure near the school, to see the sunset. It was really beautiful - the best view of Sevilla.
This week (which has actually already ended) we met a new group of students and started our new classes. I like the new peeps and I'm excited to learn more about the history and art of Spain.
